Coulter’s Wood

Allan Johnston the Forest Manager at Coulters Wood emailed the Carmunnock.org website on behalf of the owners.

Scottish Forestry (formerly the Forestry Commission) have contacted him and the landowner identifying an outbreak of Larch Dieback on the Larch trees at the western side of the woodland.

The owners are required to address the outbreak to stop further spread and therefore there will be small scale chainsaw works in the vicinity of the footpaths during Jan/Feb/March 2023. This may require temporary closure of some parts of the footpaths while Larch edge trees are felled. He will advise you of exact timings in due course. This is primarily to give advance notice.
